On November 24, 2017 in the Aarhus Centre of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the Ministry of Ecology jointly with SE NNEGC “Energoatom” representatives and with participation of the institutes that develop the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports of Zaporizhzhya NPP and South Ukraine NPP, as well as of independent Ukrainian experts, held transboundary consultations in line with procedures of the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context (Espoo Convention) with representatives of interested foreign countries.
SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" with the aim of further nuclear safety enhancing, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of the energy sector, bringing the safety of nuclear power units of Ukraine to the level corresponding to internationally recognized requirements for nuclear safety and environmental protection implements The Complex (Consolidated) Safety Upgrade Program of Power Units of Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plants (CCSUP) that was approved by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No1270 of 07.12.2011.
Public consultations concerning the scope specification of the next Environmental Assessment of the Complex (consolidated) Safety Upgrade Program of Power Units of Nuclear Power Plants (CCSUP) took place on July 6 in the Information Center of SS "South-Ukraine" NPP. In the discussion participated the experts of the directorate of SE NNEGC "Energoatom", SS "South-Ukraine" NPP, representatives of the public and the media of Yuzhnoukrainsk.
The first among Ukrainian NPPs’ public consultations regarding the scope of the Environmental Assessment of the Complex (Consolidated) Safety Upgrade Program of Power Units of Nuclear Power Plants took place on Wednesday, June 22, at the Information Centre of the Khmelnytsky Nuclear Power Plant.
